49% of Brazilian pulp sold to the Chinese market in 2023
The Brazilian Forestry Industry Association (Ib á) has released the latest data, stating that in 2023, Brazil set a new record in the forestry sector - exporting 18 million tons of pulp produced from all types of raw materials. Among them, nearly half of the exports (49%) are sold to the Chinese market. In terms of quantity and income, China is Brazil's largest importer of pulp.
According to data, Europe accounted for 24% of Brazil's pulp exports in 2023, while North America accounted for 14%. In the past, the European market was a major export destination for Brazilian pulp.
